    HISTORY

Though headquartered on Oa, the 7200-strong Green Lantern Corps is spread across the 3600 sectors of known space.

To better serve their assigned sectors, the Green Lantern Corps has established a number of sector houses throughout the universe. The houses can be used to hold captives in custody before being brought to Oa for confinement in a sciencell. The sector houses also have limited recreational facilities, and can be used as a meeting place for Lanterns of neighboring sectors. A warning system lets the ring wielders know of trouble in a sector.

Based on the number of Green Lanterns who frequent the sector house, the size and accommodations of the sector house, it can be estimated each house serves ten sectors, making a total of 360 sector houses. This is conjecture, as the exact number and positioning of sector houses across the universe has yet to be revealed.

Sector House entryThus far, known sector houses include 141 (frequented by Lanterns in Sector 1417), 191, 268 (this house has been used by Lanterns in Space Sectors 2681-2684 and was originally referred to as 2682, possibly indicating that it is located in Sector 2682 and that it houses Lanterns from Sectors 2680-2689) and 2263. Sector houses have only been seen within the 3600 sectors. It is not known if there are Sector Houses or other outposts beyond the 3600 sectors.

While it can be assumed the defenses are formidable, the sector houses are obviously not impervious to overwhelming force. During the Sinestro Corps War, members of the Sinestro Corps were able to make their way into Sector House 2263 and ambush approaching Lanterns. Later in the war, Sector House 191 was destroyed by the Sinestro Corps.

The Sector House central computer will initiate contact with an approaching Green Lantern's power ring:

    Security scan detected.
    Responding.
    Lantern _______, Sector ____.
    Authenticated.
    Entry authorized.

The central computer can be overridden for an emergency situation to lock down the Sector House, as shown by Honor Guard Lantern Guy Gardner of Earth.

    Sector House lockdown
    Field generator to power.
    Facility locked down.
    No entry or exit permitted.
Authorization from Oa required to unlock facility.

It is not known if the Sector Houses are open to the general population of the universe, like a police precinct house on Earth.
