Synopsis:
Ty Duffy has been kidnapped by a being calling itself the Remnant, who has read his rejected story on the human cost of Superman's so-called death, and feels that Duffy is a kindred spirit. Elsewhere, prompted by Duffy's comments to him, Superman researches the number of people whose deaths were related to his own and is astonished. He then encounters the Remnant, who shows him a holographic graveyard with the tombstones of some of these people, including Ty Duffy's father, and then engineers a plot to see that copies of Ty's story get out to the people of Metropolis. Both Ty and Superman must then contemplate what the truth of the matter is - whether without Superman there would be less villains or more disasters - and evaluate what being a reporter of the truth means to them.
