Synopsis:

Emil Hamilton has discovered that Pluto hasn't been destroyed after all - it's merely 'hiding.' He guides Superman on a mission to discover what's happened, and what should the hero find there but a new Warworld. Back on Earth, Lex Luthor receives a mysterious visitor who warns him that a great challenge is ahead in which he will make his name as a president. On Warworld, Superman is attacked by a number of beings he doesn't recognise, but who call themselves the Fatal Five. The strange thing about the encounter is that Professor Hamilton can only hear Superman's side of his dialogue with these people. This leads Superman to realise that the Fatal Five are merely hard light holograms which dissipate off-world. When he returns to the planet he finds that is has come online, though when he finds the command centre it is empty. What's more, the planet has been set to self-destruct - Superman only barely escapes in time, though not without realising that Brainiac-13 is the mastermind behind the transformation and destruction of Pluto.

On Earth, Luthor learns that a few million people will have to die if he is to win the coming war, and that he will have a desperate need of Superman. His visitor leaves; he believes it was his daughter, who he had to give up to Brainiac-13 to win their battle before the presidential race. Later, once Superman has returned to Earth, Warworld re-forms itself, with Brainiac-13 at the helm, attended by Luthor's visitor.
