This is the first issue to replace old style newsprint paper with glossy paper.
This issue continues the storyline Death of Clark Kent, with a leadup in
Superman: Man of Steel #44 and commencing in Superman #100 and Adventures of Superman #523.
Synopsis:
Superman is desperate to catch up with Conduit before he can make good with his threats, but Metallo arrives with some nasty augmented powers. Lois Lane is meanwhile taking care of herself, and seeks allies against Conduit, while Ma and Pa Kent hide from Pipeline operatives.
