Comment: This landmark issue features almost every major supporting character still alive in the Superman comics. It marks the last issue of Roger Stern as writer. First issue in Fall of Metropolis (other issues were Superman: Man of Steel 38, Superman 91, Adventures of Superman 514, Action Comics 701).

Synopsis:

The final battle for Metropolis awaits. Lex Luthor has been exposed for his crimes by a key ally's betrayal and Lois Lane is finally clearing her name. But Luthor won't go down without a fight, and even with the help of Supergirl and Superboy, there may be no way for Superman to save his beloved Metropolis. Meanwhile, a very special event takes place back in Smallville.
