Drake (dies)
Dolores Winters
Synopsis:
In two days time, Luthor Towers is due to open, but the sabotage
efforts against Lexcorp show no signs of abating. Drake suspects
that Hewitt may be behind this, and when Luthor learns of this, he
wastes no time in getting him killed. Superman then whisks
Delores Winters away to safety before Luthor has her killed too. He
then sets out to capture Madness while leaving the big disasters
temporarily in the hands of the Blue Beetle. Madness leads Superman
to the place where he has met with the U.L.T.R.A.Humanite, and so
allows Superman to discover what Wilde's plans now are, and whose
body he now inhabits.
Lane and Winter are being pursued through the streets of
Metropolis by some of Luthor's men. On the way to Luthor Towers, due
to be opened in mere minutes, they are met by Superman, who warns
that Wilde plans to use Luthor Towers to transmit his soul throughout
Metropolis using the equipment stolen from the various research
facilities. He destroys the transmitter and then confronts Wilde,
who has been living in Drake's body since the death of Carlisle. In
the process of the battle, Superman ensures that key supports in the
building are taken out so that it collapses in on itself. However,
Wilde escapes, leaving Drake's body behind. Not only is the
U.L.T.R.A.Humanite out for revenge, but Luthor vows to build a new
building which will stand the test of time and which everyone will
know is his.
