Other Characters: Commander Edvard Ahbernethy Hagbard, Niewa Quav (Science Police officers; first post-Zero Hour appearance of both); Sgt. Bendah (first appearance; a Sergeant of the Science Police)

Comment: As a result of Zero Hour, the entire pre-Zero Hour 30th Century continuity was completely obliterated, and the post-Zero Hour issues of Legion of Super-Heroes and Legionnaires will thus present the redefined history of the superteam of the future beginning with the formation of the team in this story.

President Jeanne Chu is listed as a villain throughout this index, as she is later revealed to be behind various anti-Legion movements, in an attempt to shut the Legion down.

Synopsis:

As the free worlds of the galaxy take their first tentative steps towards unity, multibillionaire R.J. Brande looks for a way to repay the universe for his lifetime of prosperity. When Brande is targeted for assassination three super-powered teenagers battle to save his life, inspiring the wealthy philanthropist to back the creation of a new heroic tradition - one embodied by a Legion of Super-Heroes.
