This is brought to a stop by the android Hourman, who takes Rex's place in the battle against Extant. Rick and Rex Tyler return to Wendi - their mother and wife respecively - and Rex vows to rebuild the android. Elsewhere, in Kahndaq, a troubled Atom Smasher is approached by the same stranger as Jakeem Thunder - Rip Hunter, time master.
