Synopsis:

Accompanied by Metron, the JSA members who foiled Kobra's plans for mass destruction enter the timestram in search of Extant, who was responsible for the deaths of the original Atom, Hourman and Doctor Mid-Nite. Metron had earlier been attacked by Extant, who stole his powerful device (the Meobius Chair), and subsequently rescued by the 'heavy hitters' of the Society, who had already entered the timestream. Extant wishes to remake creation, and takes out the heroes with the additional power granted him by the Chair. Despite the assistance lent them by an alternate version of the original Star-Spangled Kid, and Hourman's ability to shield them from some of Extant's powers over time, he had been able to defeat them, with Metron the only survivor, hence his presence with the 'less powerful' JSA members.

These heroes reach the point of Extant's major disturbance in the time-stream and discover a world created anew with battling clans which resemble the archetypes of chaos and order, the Hawk and the Dove, deeply meaningful to Extant as he used to be Hawk, an agent of the Lords of Order and Chaos.
