Synopsis:

Obsidian's eclipsing power binge is having bad effects all over the globe, including within the shadow dome of Opal City. Sentinel sets off to confront his son, and instructs the others to keep in physical contact with one another or risk facing their worst fears. Hawkgirl and Star-Spangled Kid are able to release Hourman from Obsidian's control, and he in turn freezes Flash in time until the speedster can also be released. Dr Fate's helmet helps him to break the shadows' control, and Atom Smasher traps the rest of the possessed people out of harm's way.

Sentinel confronts Obsidian, who makes the mistake of challenging his father on willpower, a confrontation that breaks the eclipse. Back on terra firma, Obsidian feels he is being called by the shadowlands and attempts to take Sentinel with him, but is prevented by the intervention of James Rice. Heartbroken, Sentinel has to break the news to Jade that her brother is probably dead.

Back at the JSA headquarters, Wildcat's bath (and phone conversation with Catwoman) is cut short by a breach of the perimeter alarm, caused by the new Injustice Society, led by Johnny Sorrow.
