Synopsis:

Dr Mid-Nite tends Black Canary's wounds, introduces himself and fights off some shadow creatures, while Obsidian tortures the possessed members of the JSA with their worst nightmares and memories. Karkull arrives from the shadow realm, presenting Sentinel as a gift to Obsidian, who is only narrowly stopped from killing his father by the arrival of Dr Mid-Nite and Black Canary. They are able to free Rice, Sentinel, Hawkgirl, Atom Smasher and the Star-Spangled Kid before escaping.

Obsidian turns on Karkull and extends his eclipsing influence, possibly over the entire world. The members of the JSA realise that they stand almost no chance of stopping him.
