Synopsis
The D.E.O.'s Agent Chase and Dr Collins tell new agent Hansen the various rumours surrounding their Director, Mister Bones. That he has a criminal record is well-known, but other facts about him, such as how he got his prosthetic leg, and how he obtained a pardon for his crimes, are less easy to verify. They are interrupted by the Director himself, who wants the report Chase has been preparing on Hawkman and Hawkgirl. When the Director leaves the meeting, he receives a call from someone who evidently helped him get where he is today. He is ordered to use what he can against the Justice Society, just as he did in getting them to help with a situation on Blackhawk Island. The Director feels uncomfortable acting against them, as some of them helped him in the past, but he has no choice. He may well use the leverage he has against Hawkgirl and Mister Terrific.

Synopsis

Firebrand, even in the midst of battle, realises that he and his opponent are pumped full of drugs to make them do this. He tries to get through to his opponent, so they can try to fight against the drugs, but gets a knife in his throat for his trouble. Fight over. Roulette is displeased with the short length of the fight and the lacklustre nature of the fighters and realises she needs some big names. Her eye falls on a news item about the JSA...
