Synopsis:

The Justice League and Metamorpho face the earth-monster Chthon, but are only able to defeat it with Wonder Woman's help. It appears that the underworld is striking against the things of mankind, and it is not clear what the League can do about it, other than to wait for another occurrence. Crimson Fox realises that there is more depth to Metamorpho than she knew, and Power Girl hopes to find out more about Atlantis, her ancestral home, from Aquaman. That night, Chthon reappears, bigger than before and literally swallows the heroes, inviting them in to the 'pillars of unreason'.
