Synopsis:

The JLA are under attack from the military superhumans, the Ultramarines, and are taken out one by one: Steel and Barda are taken down by attractor discs, Green Lantern is attacked by a sonic device, and Flash receives some shrapnel in his calf, meaning he can't run. Scanning the bodies of the Ultramarines, Superman, also injured, discovers that they are dying.

Meanwhile, Batman, Huntress and Plastic Man break into a top secret military installation in Nevada, where they come across first General Eilings dead body, and then his mind transferred into the 'immortal, invulnerable, unbeatable' body of the Shaggy Man.
