Booster Gold demands to know why the Martian Manhunter has been masquerading as Bloodwynd for the last few months, but J'onn does not know - he has no memory of anything between leaving the Justice League and waking up in Dr Destiny's dreamverse. Blue Bettle figures it must be something to do with the gem embedded in his chest, and the Atom agrees to go in at subatomic size and take a look. Here he discovers both old Justice League foe the Weapons Master and a being called Rott, who captures Atom and demands that the League send him their most powerful member - the Ray. The rookie hero masters a new variation of his powers, by focussing himself into a single beam of light, to get inside the gem, where he too encounters Rott.
