Synopsis:

It is the day after Lois Lane received a threatening letter, and the whole super-heroic community is on the warpath, chasing down villains in an attempt to learn who is responsible, but none of them get any answers. The Atom and Jean Loring's romance is re-kindled following his heroic act of rescue, while Captain Boomerang teaches his son the art of the boomerang and learns that he has super-speed, presumably inherited from his mother. While trying to question Shadow Thief, Firestorm is stabbed in the heart with the Shining Knight's magical sword, setting off a chain reaction which causes him to explode high in the atmosphere. And when Robin goes off on the hunt, his father, Jack Drake, finds a parcel containing a gun and a note to protect himself, a note which makes it clear that the sender knows his son's identity. As Batman and Robin race back to the Drakes' apartment, it is invaded by Captain Boomerang, who has been kired to kill Drake. The two men face one another and both of them are killed - Drake impaled by a razor-sharp boomerang and Captain Boomerang shot multiple times in the chest. Robin is too late to save his father.
