    Theodore "Ted" Knight marries Doris Adele Lee in Opal City.

1956 A.D.

    Miraculously surviving a plane crash on their way to a popular TV show, Rocky Davis, Professor Haley, Red Ryan, and Ace Morgan realize that they are living on borrowed time. Together they decide to form a team, using their unique backgrounds to become Challengers of the Unknown.

1957 A.D.

[Spring]

    On March 25th, the Dome is established with the help of Dr. Mist. Its super-powered members are labeled the Global Guardians. Infinity, Inc. #34
    Quicksilver/Max Mercury time jumps from 1948 A.D. and becomes the Blue Streak. Flash Secret Files #1 (November 1997)

1958 A.D.

    The Challengers of the Unknown chase Darius Tiko to the 31st century and then to the late 20th century before imprisoning him. Challengers of the Unknown Vol. 1 #4 and Adventures of Superman #508 (January 1994)
    Congo Bill becomes the Congorilla. Action Comics #248 (January 1959) / Secret Origins Vol. 2 #40 (May 1989)

1961 A.D.

    The time-travelling Spectre fails to defeat Shathan during a Russian atomic blast. They both travel further back in time. Showcase #61 (March 1966)

1962 A.D.

[Fall]

    Kid Eternity is trapped in Hell for the next 30 years.
    The Reaper was active in Gotham City during the early '60s. Green Lantern (Alan Scott) emerge from retirement to stop the killer known as the Reaper, but is himself nearly killed himself. Green Lantern's former comrades in the JSA also emerge from retirement to unsuccessfully attempt to apprehend the Reaper. Secret Origins Vol. 2 #50
    Keystone City including resident hero Flash I, Jay Garrick, and his wife is put into suspended animation for decades.
    Sargon the Sorcerer, a hero during WWII, gains a reputation as a super-villain.

1963 A.D.

    Savitar appears for the first time.
    Blue Streak (Max Mercury) and Johnny Quick battle Savitar. Flash Secret Files #1 (November 1997)

35 Years Ago

[Winter]

    The Green Lantern Corps stop the Manhunters from capturing the Kryptonian spacecraft as it approaches Earth. On or about February 28th, the craft crashes outside of Smallville, Kansas and is found by the Kents. The Manhunters cause a blizzard to cover their covert activities regarding the last Kryptonian. The Manhunters fail in their attempt to capture the last Kryptonian and instead infiltrate Smallville. Virtually all children born in Smallville from that point on are implanted with devices which make them sleeper agents Man of Steel #1 (October 1986), World of Smallville #3 (June 1988), Action Comics #596 (January 1988), Action Comics #655 (July 1990), Adventures of Superman #436 (January 1988), and Superman: Man of Steel Annual #4 (May 1995)

[Summer]

    Bruce Wayne is born.
    Ray Palmer born in Ivy Town.
    Five months after discovering him, the Kents introduce Kal-El to Smallville as Clark Kent, their son. Man of Steel #1 (October 1986), World of Smallville #2 (May 1988)
    Atlanna, queen of Atlantis, is seduced by the immortal Atlan. She later gives birth to Orin who is born with blond hair, the feared "curse of Kordax." King Trevis, Atlanna's husband, abandons Orin on a Mercy Reef to die, and then commits suicide himself. Orin is later found by porpoise Porm, who adopts the strange boy as her own and names him "Swimmer." Orin lives with the dolphins for many years. As a result of Kordax's bloodline, Orin is able to communicate with all sea creatures. Atlantis Chronicles #7 (December 1990) and Aquaman: Time and Tide #2 (January 1994)

34 Years Ago

    The infant Iris Russell is transported back in time from 2927 A.D. by her parents, where she is taken in by the West's, who have just lost their own daughter during childbirth. Flash Vol. 1 #203 (February 1971) and Flash Secret Files #1 (November 1997)
    David Knight is born.

33 Years Ago

    Minor heroes named the Bowman, Captain Swift, Lady Liberty, the Mermaid, Mr. Might, the Patriot, and Princess Power form a short-lived group named the Freedom Brigade. Showcase #62 (May-June 1966)

32 Years Ago

    The time-lost 20th century Animal Man meets with the Phantom Stranger, the Immortal Man, and Jason Blood. They help him find his way back home. Animal Man #23 (May 1990)

31 Years Ago

[Winter]

    August Durant becomes Mockingbird and forms the Secret Six. Secret Six #1 (April-May 1968)
    In Washington Air Force captain Nathaniel Adam is court-martialed for murder and treason. In order to receive a full Presidential pardon Adam volunteers to be part of a government operation, code-named Project Atom and is lost in the Quantum Field Captain Atom #1 (March 1987)
    A doll elemental is created and is named Brother Power, the Geek. He is later rocketed into space to return years later. Brother Power, The Geek #1 (September-October 1968)
    Zatara the Magician meets Sindella. Secret Origins Vol. 2 #27 (June 1988)

30 Years Ago

[Winter]

    Zatanna Zatara is born to John Zatara and Sindella. Secret Origins Vol. 2 #27 (June 1988)
    Sergeant Clifford Zmeck is lost in the Quantum Field (returns decades later as Major Force) Captain Atom Annual #1 (1988)
    Jim Rook is lost in another dimension and finds himself on the continent of Myrra. He helps fight the Warlocks as Nightmaster. Showcase #82 (May 1969)
    On June 16th, Lt. Colonel Travis Morgan of the USAF takes photographs of a new Russian military installation from his jet flying at 80,000 feet. The Russians track Morgan and fire missiles at the enemy spy, causing damage which leads to a fuel leak. Morgan decides the best route to take is over the North Pole to an emergency support base in Alaska. He inadvertently flies through a dimensional portal at the pole which takes him to the world of Skartaris, a world which appears to Morgan as existing inside the Earth. Morgan meets Tara of the kingdom of Shamballah and becomes the Warlord of Skartaris. First Issue Special #8 (November 1975) / Secret Origins #16 (July 1987)
    Lois Lane is born to Sam and Ella Lane.
    Jack Knight is born.
    While in Vietnam Slade Wilson volunteers for an army experiment and is injected with a special hormone that should enable soldiers to resist enemy truth serums. Instead of the intended effect Slade gains almost superhuman strength.
    Acro-Bat, Song Bird, Major Flashback, Mister Action, the Manx and J'onn J'onzz (under the identity of the Bronze Wraith) join forces and begin operating on the East Coast as The Justice Experience. Chase #6 (July 1998)
    The Spectre's friend, Percival Pop, dies. Spectre Vol. 3 #24 (December 1995)

    At age 6, Clark Kent lifts an ox. Adventures of Superman #468 (July 1990)

    Mitchell Shelley is born in Viceroy, South Carolina. He will later learn that he is the latest incarnation of the Resurrection Man.

[Summer]

    Clark Kent (age 8) discovers that he is invulnerable.
    In Gotham City Martha and Thomas Wayne, the parents of Bruce Wayne (age 8), are gunned down in an alley; Bruce vows to avenge them.
    Henry King (the golden age villain named Brain Wave) marries Merry Pemberton (the heroine called the Gimmick Girl)
    Six pregnant women are injected by the mad Dr. Love with a special serum to create the Helix brood. Infinity, Inc. #18 (September 1985)

26 Years Ago

    On Paradise Island, an inaccessible land in the mid-Atlantic, a child is born from mud and clay and given life by the Gods of Olympus. The child Diana will one day grow up to become the greatest heroine of all time. Wonder Woman Vol. 2 #1
    Merry Pemberton King gives birth to a son Henry King Jr. Sometime during Hank's childhood, his mother Merry dies of a broken heart.

    The Monitor saves the girl he would later name Harbinger
    The Invisible Hood is murdered by the Mist and the Icicle. Starman Vol. 2 #2 (December 1994)
    The Acro-Bat is killed by Larry Trapp. Chase #6 (July 1998)

    Princess Power of the Freedom Brigade marry Theo O'Day and give birth to Athena Aoide (who would later become Dumb Bunny).

[Winter]

    A woman named Arella joins a satanic cult and is chosen to become the bride of the demonic Trigon, who abandons her after impregnating her. She is then taken in by the disciples of Temple Azarath. Tales of the New Teen Titans #2 (July 1982)
    King Thar and Queen Berra of the undersea kingdom of the Idylists ruled benevolently until King Thar went mad. The Idylists revolted, killing the king and banishing his pregnant queen. Soon after, Queen Berra, who found refuge in Atlantis, gave birth to her son Garth. Garth was born with purple eyes, a bad omen to the Atlanteans, and was exiled into the ocean. Adventure Comics #455 (January-February 1978)
    A young girl is abducted by aquatic aliens that conduct various experiment on her that adapts her to undersea life. She is later freed by Kordax and will someday become known as Dolphin.

[Fall]

    Arella gives birth to Raven. Tales of the New Teen Titans #2 (July 1982)
    Prof. O'Day leaves his first wife Princess Power, formerly of a lost subterranean Amazon tribe, after their daughter Athena is born. He marries again, has a daughter Angel, then his second wife dies. His first wife re-appears and they re-marry.
    The Green Glob first appears. Tales of the Unexpected #83 (October 1963)
    Rex the Wonder Dog and Bobo the Detective Chimp drink from the Fountain of Youth and become young again. DC Comics Presents #?

[Winter]

    Jimmy Olsen's father disappears
    Originally sent to Earth as part of an alien invasion force, Mikaal Tomas, chooses to switch sides and helps fight back the alien troops when they arrive. Stranded on Earth Mikaal moves to Opal City where he operates as Starman III for a short time before he disappears. Starman Vol. 2 #28 (March 1997)

[Spring]

    Jimmy Olsen is born.
    The time-lost 20th century Animal Man briefly meets his younger self, the 10 year old Buddy Baker. He is then thrown further back in time. Animal Man #22 (April 1990)

20 Years Ago

    Jim Harper (formerly the golden age Guardian) is murdered by Intergang. Guardians of Metropolis #1 (November 1994) / Legends of the DC Universe #14 (March 1999)
    Following the birth of his second son, Joseph, Slade Wilson dons a costume and becomes the mercenary known as Deathstroke the Terminator.

18 Years Ago

    Lar Gand is born on Daxam.
    After "Aquaman" is abandoned by lighthouse keeper Arthur Curry, he heads north to Alaska. He saves Kako of the Inupiat from a polar bear. Kako has sex with "Aquaman". Later, Kako is found seriously injured, "Aquaman" is kicked out. Six months later, she is gone. He is unaware that she carries his child. Aquaman: Time and Tide #3 (Feb 1994) / Aquaman Secret Files #1 (December 1998)
    The evil Rhombus has an affair with his enemy Tsunami, then is banished by the Atlantean wizard Atlan into deep space. Months later, Tsunami gives birth to Debbie (later Deep Blue), leading her husband Neptune Perkins into believing the child is his. Aquaman Vol. 5 #38-39 (November-December 1997)

17 Years Ago

    Angel O'Day meets Sam Simeon, the grandson of the gorilla Grodd, in Africa. Angel and the Ape Vol. 2 #1 (March 1991)
    In the dimension of Gemworld, Lord Amethyst wears a Lord of Order, Pentagons, around his neck. His newborn daughter Amethyst is the only Lord of Order in human form. Citrina of Gemworld brings the infant Amethyst to the Earth dimension and leaves her with Herbert and Marion Winston. Legion of Super-Heroes Vol. 2 #298 / Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld #1 (May 1983)
    The wife of Al Pratt (the original Atom) gives birth to Grant (later the hero Damage). Vandal Savage murders the mother, steals the child, and Al Pratt is told both died during child-birth. Damage #12 (April 1995)
    Doctor Alec Holland is killed in a chemical explosion, but his consciousness lives on in the form of a plant elemental known as Swamp Thing. Swamp Thing #1 (October-November 1972)

[Summer]

    Clark Kent discovers he can fly. Man of Steel #6 (December 1986)
    Geologist "Cave" Carson leaves the safety of his laboratory to help mankind in times of danger and takes his crew inside Earth. Brave and the Bold Vol. 1 #31
    Dane Dorrance forms the Sea Devils. Showcase #25
    Orin offends Triton when he tries to protect Princess Diana of Themyscira from his advances. Aquaman Annual Vol. 5 #1 (July 1995)

[Fall]

    At the end of the fall semester of his senior year of high school, Clark Kent (age 18) tells Lana Lang about his powers. He then arranges to graduate early, leaves Smallville and travel the world some months. Man of Steel #6 (December 1986)

    Clark Kent comes to Metropolis and enrolls at Metropolis University for the fall semester. World of Metropolis #3 (October 1988)
    Bruce Wayne embarks on a worldwide odyssey auditing college classes in European Universities and seeking training in martial arts and so forth.

    Circus aerialist Boston Brand is killed by the League of Assassins. Yet, despise the death of his body, Brand's spirit lives on to walk the Earth, a Deadman dedicated to the cause of justice. Strange Adventures #205 (October 1967)
    Sarge Steel is appointed to government agency known as the Meta-Human Affairs Committee.
    Roy Raymond, T.V. Detective starts his agency. Detective Comics #153 (November 1949)

    Bernhard "Buddy" Baker (age 19) gets animal powers and becomes Animal Man. Animal Man #10-11 (April-May 1989)
    Terrence Thirteen goes into business as Dr. 13, Ghost-Breaker. Star-Spangled Comics #122 (November 1951)

[Fall]

    Clark Kent meets Lori Lemaris early in the fall semester and dates her for three months. He asks her to marry him but she turns him down. Superman Vol. 2 #12 (December 1987)
    Clark Kent graduates Metropolis University with an Associates Degree in Journalism. World of Metropolis #3 (October 1988)
