The Unofficial Guide to the DC Universe has moved. After having hosted our new message board since february I'm proud to announce that Comicboards.com has now become our new host as well. No more annoying banner ads to slow things down. Along with the move I've been rearranging just about every file in the Guide in order to make it easier to get outside help. I've had to admit that "just" running the place is a bigger job than I can handle on my own so I'll be bringing in some extra help on the html-editing and other stuff in order to make things run more smoothly.
You won't be able to notice any changes right away but with all the rearranging updates will be a lot easier as everything is sorted in a much more logical manner. Should you come across any problems the next few days please let me know and I'll look into it.
As soon as I've gotten a few hours rest I'll get right back on all of those updates that you've mailed me or posted on the message board so that we can get things rolling again.

As the new DC Chronology Project is taking form lots of Character Chronology Indexes will be updated in the upcoming months. As some pages might be updated several times every week with only a single entry at a time I will not be posting the updates on this page untill the pages either have been have been completed or are close to completion. As soon as the new DC Chronology Project is ready for actual inclusion in the Guide updates will be mentioned on a regular basis.

A new Message Board hosted by Comicboards.com has been integrated into the site. Now all profile addition and corrections will be posted at this board for further discussion or comments instead of just being forwarded to my e-mail address. To go to the new DCU Guide message board click here
The newly formed Message Board also marks the beginning of the new DC Chronology Project. Over the next weeks I will be preparing a new version of the DC Chronology Project that will be integrated into the Guide, listing every DC characters' appearances in chronological order. These lists will be posted on the message board for further discussion and comments before being uploaded to the Guide.
Furthermore, I just got my new scanner and will begin scanning images for the profiles that currently have none right away.
Welcome to the new and completely revamped Unofficial Guide to the DC Universe.
In the last six months since the last update of the site a lot of has been happening behind the scenes. Some things like the changes in the layout will be apparent right away while others will not show right away. However, now that the work has been done the Guide should be back on track and later updates will take place on a much more regular basis.
To give you an idea of what has been happening here is a list of some of the things that have been done since last update:
- The Main pages and Character Biographies have been given a completely new look.
- The "Hawkworld - Still Goin' Strong" website has become an official Guide partner.
- Beginning this month, "Spotlight On...", a new Guide feature will give a specific character, group or theme a special treatment.
- Most of the over 2500 html-pages that the Guide currectly consist of have been renamed to make later updates easier.
- A lot of minor corrections have been made to all pages to make them work in Netscape 6, which unfortunately seems to have lots of bugs and works extremely bad with frames.
- Although only twenty new character profiles have been added since last update, giving us a total of 140 Who's Who profiles now available, a lot preliminary work has been done on a number of character biographies and character continuity indexes, which will go online sometime in the near future.
- Almost 2000 comics fully indexed, complete with character appearances, creator info and cover scans.
- The various links throughout the site have been "style-sheeted" so that links to biographies will light up in the color corresponding to the who's who color codes.
I hope you'll enjoy the new look as much as I do. I've tried my best to make sure that everything works properly but I'm bound to have missed something so in case you come across something that doesn't work please let me know. However, I should note that I am aware that there are a number of dead links in the indexes and I will be trying to fix that in the near future. Furthermore it should be noted that the title and character continuity indexes are far from up to date as I've been running a lot behind while completing the rest of the update, but this too will be worked on in the upcoming weeks and files will be corrected almost daily.
Some profiles and indexes might still be missing images as I'm still waiting for my new scanner, that should arrive sometime this week after which I'll be able to implement other new ideas and material that I wasn't able to do in time for the update.
