Synopsis:

It is discovered that Neron has been hiding in Superman's body to get into the mortal plane, and uses the Spear of Destiny to try and force the Spectre Force to accept him as its host. Inside the Force, there is a three-way battle between Asmodel, Neron and Hal Jordan, which is interrupted by the Spectre-force itself. It demands of the three of them why it should accept them, and finally takes Jordan when he admits that he deserves punishment for his crimes - to become the Spectre will be his penance. The soul of Jim Corrigan appears on Earth to give his blessing to Hal as the Spectre and to take Asmodel away. He also reveals that the souls in purgatory who aided Jordan may be allowed into heaven as a reward.

To wrap things up: The Atom agrees to teach Firestorm a thing or two about chemistry, Batman grumbles about both Jordan and Faust, and Neron is demoted to a rhyming class demon - was this Etrigan's plan all along?
