Synopsis:

Etrigan contrives to cleave the fallen angel Asmodel to the Spectre force and cause utter chaos on the Earth, taking out Neron along the way. Asmodel extinguishes the flames of hell and leads the demons to the mortal realm. This has many effects on Earth, unleashing the Enchantress and stirring such heroes as Zatanna and Doctor Occult to assemble all the magical might they can. When the conventional heroes take on Asmodel they are taken down in a variety of unpleasant ways, leaving only Earth's mystical defenders, banding together temporarily as the Sentinels of Magic.
