Synopsis:

Whisper and Abbott are needed once again by Ra's al Ghul, whose organisation is weak after the defection of his daughter, Talia, and his consequent defeat at the hands of the JLA. Batman is now pursuing Ra's relentlessly, perhaps, as Oracle notes, because of the division that al Ghul managed to create between him and the rest of the Justice League. Whisper and Abbott are despatched by Ra's to track down his daughter, in Switzerland, which is exactly where Batman is heading. Of course, Batman, Whisper and Abbott arrive at the same time, leading to a messy confrontation in which Whisper is accidentally tranquilised and Talia nearly drowns before being spirited away by Abbott. Knowing that Batman will follow her both to ensure her safety and to find her father, Talia leaves a message at Ra's' now abandoned base with the co-ordinates of his next hiding place.

Batman, meanwhile confronts Whisper and gives her an antidote to the highly addictive anti-aging drug which Ra's has supplied her with for almost ninety years. He leaves her and follows Ra's trail to his new base (in the Middle East?), where he is captured, betrayed by Whisper who says her life is devoted to Ra's al Ghul, not to his drug. Tired of 'the detective's' constant interference, Ra's gives up his dream of having Batman as son-in-law and heir, and decides to have him killed. He is dissuaded by Talia, who wants to try one more time to win his heart. However, she and Batman overpower Whisper and Abbott, his guards and escape, destroying Ra's' operation and supply of drugs in the process. They go their separate ways, and perhaps each is left wondering whether they'll see the other again.
