Story: "[Bruce Wayne: Fugitive Part Eleven]: The Turning Point" (22 Pages) Credits: Ed Brubaker (plot, script) Feature Character: Batman (also in flashback to his parents' funeral) Supporting Characters: Leslie Thompkins Guest Appearance: Catwoman Other Characters: Kathleen (guest on a talk show) Fugitive: Bruce Wayne: Fugitive Part Ten was in Birds of Prey #43, and Part Twelve is in Detective Comics #771 Synopsis: Leslie Thompkins contacts Batman, via Catwoman, to let him know that Detective Gary Sloan, the officer who investigated Bruce's parents deaths, is in hospital, likely to die within a week, and is asking to see Batman. The retired policeman tells Batman of the effect he has had on the city and asks him for a favour. He has one case still unsolved which he wants him to take over, as he doesn't trust the police department: the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne, which he had promised the young Bruce he would solve. He also tells Batman that he doesn't believe Bruce Wayne murdered Vesper Fairchild and deserves a fair hearing. Out of respect for the man, who was an early inspiration to him, Batman takes on both cases, and contacts Oracle, calling himself Bruce rather than Batman. | |||||||||||
