Story: "Wayne Manor: Anatomy of a Murder" (22 Pages) Credits: Alan Grant (plot, script) Feature Character: Bruce Wayne Supporting Characters: Alfred Pennyworth Villains: Jeb Strake Other Characters: Joshua Thomas Wayne Note: The 'flashback' section of the story, recreated from Solomon Zebediah Wayne's diaries, takes place in November 1860 Synopsis: A body is discovered in the wine cellars of Wayne Manor - that of Bruce Wayne's ancestor Joshua Thomas Wayne. While the police aren't particularly interested in discovering the truth about the man's death (he has a knife in his ribs), Bruce is able to ascertain what happened from his family's historical records. The elder Wayne died to prevent an underground railroad that helped slaves to freedom being discovered. Thinking back over his family's achievements, Bruce ponders, as he does only rarely, the fact that he is the last of his line. |
