Villains: Bugg Other Characters: Simone (Celia Kazantkakis' personal assistant) Note: The Batman 'family' appear on the final page (p34) in their civilian guises - Bruce Wayne, Barbara Gordon, Cassandra Cain, Tim Drake and Dick Grayson - three weeks after the events of the rest of the issue Synopsis: The Network begin their final assault on Gotham City, and Batman must call in not only his immediate associates, but also the other vigilantes and heroes operating in Gotham, including the Huntress, who is the hardest to reconcile with. They cut the power in the whole city in order to begin a massive transfer of bank funds which will cripple Wayne Enterprises and with it the whole of the Gotham economy. Athena also prepares her personal revenge on the Rossetti family, but is ultimately unable to see it all the way through. The Huntress captures the Suicide King, while Nightwing and Black Canary bring down Mister Fun. Robin and Spoiler intercept some of the Network's equipment, and Batgirl finds Bugg at Wayne Plaza. Batman confronts Athena, but is unable to prevent her escape from Gotham. The Network has been crippled for now, and Batman's relationship with his extended 'family' has certainly improved. |
