Following this, she decides to reinvent herself as Oracle. Second Story: "Decoys" (10 Pages) Credits: Tommy Lee Edwards (plot, script, pencils) Feature Character: Lieutenant James Gordon (between panels 2 and 4 of page 6 of Batman #404) Supporting Character: Lieutenant Paul Pendergast Villains: Sergio D'Goia and his wife Other Characters: Officer Rice Comment: This is Gordon's first case as a Homicide Lieutenant in Gotham City. Synopsis: Newly transferred to Homicide, James Gordon is assigned to help protect a mob boss who is to turn state's evidence. In the process a number of cops are killed, and a woman caught in the crossfire turns out to be the mobster's wife, spiriting him away from both his attackers and the police. Third Story: "Of Mice and Men" (10 Pages) Credits: Alan Grant (plot, script) Feature Character: Alfred Pennyworth Supporting Characters: Thomas and Martha Wayne Other Characters: Harry (a schoolfriend of Bruce Wayne's) Comment: This story is set during Bruce Wayne's childhood, shortly before the deaths of his parents Synopsis: Alfred Pennyworth is planning to return to his native England and leave the Wayne family's service, but after witnessing young Bruce get the better of a school bully, he thinks he may change his mind. | |||||||||||||
